About PRO-ZA Balkan

The International Literature Festival PRO-ZA Balkan is the first specialized international festival in Skopje dedicated exclusively to contemporary prose, which over the years has established itself as a leading regional platform for promoting literary excellence and building genuine publishing bridges between our region and Europe.

The central event of the festival is the presentation of the prestigious "Prozart" Award, presented to a prominent author for their exceptional artistic contribution to the development of literature in the Balkans.

An integral part of the festival is the Skopje Fellowship Program, aimed at international publishers, editors, translators, and literary agents. This program seeks to encourage the promotion and translation of Macedonian authors abroad through direct meetings, professional networking, and firsthand insight into the contemporary Macedonian literary scene.
